The home performance audit can be broken down into three basic steps.

1.) Initial Audit - This 3 hour process reviews all aspects of the home and utilizes diagnostic tools to collect data about the home.  We assess the home's air leaks, check insulation levels, test for furnace and hot water heater safety and efficiency among other items.  

2.) Report - Compiles the data collected in a detailed report for the homeowners within one week of the audit.  This report provides a detailed account of how the home is performing and using energy.  It includes a list of recommendations with associated costs and estimated paybacks for these measures if installed.  Review of this report can either be in person or via phone/e-mail.   

3.) Installation - Measures decided upon by the homeowner are installed in a timely and professional manner.  Once the updates have been performed we re-test for air leaks, the furnace and hot water heater to confirm we have provided a safe more energy efficient home.  At completion of this test Greenlight Construction will submit all paperwork to BGE for possible incentives.

Price of Initial Audit is $100 for homes up to 3,000 sq ft.  For homes over 3,000 sq ft add $75 for every additional 1,000 sq ft increment.   Payment is due upon receipt of report. 

Typical measures can be anywhere between $1,500 to $10,000+ depending upon the condition of the home's HVAC, Insulation, doors and windows, etc...
